An additional 100 pavers have been approved by the Bexar County Commissioners to
be added to the Purple Heart Monument located in downtown San Antonio. The monument
was unveiled in 2006 and is actually located in front of the Bexar County Justice
Center.
The public will get another chance to pay tribute to deceased and living Purple Heart
recipients by honoring them with inscribed pavers displaying their name, branch of
service and war/conflict. The unveiling for the pavers is scheduled for August 7,
2010 honoring the new pavers. Deadline is July 15, 2010 for requesting the pavers.
The memorial is paying honor to those men and women that been wounded or killed in
battle.

in supporting the veterans in the local area. Send donations to: MOPH 1836, 5314
