IT'S FEBRUARY AND HEARTS ARE IN THE AIR!! Reminds me of how much I love our exceptional Ladies and Patriots. Altho Peter & I were out of State on an emergency, the Unit and Chapter jumped in and put on a great Bingo for the Vets at Audie Murphy Community Living Center formerly (E.C.T.C.)Thanks to Sue Golding, Alicia Weber, April Perez, Alex Perez, Manuel Soto, Ruperto Cruz Jr., Javier Lugo, Guadalupe Olquin, Raymond Venezie,
LaRue Terry, Thomas J. Terry, and Officer Darrell Williams, friend of the MOPH-- A good time was had by all. OUR NEXT BINGO IS SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, FEB. 13, 2012. We will have of course a Valentine Theme and candy kisses!! Hope you can join us at 6:00 p.m.
With great appreciation I want to thank Alicia Weber for accepting the important position of Senior Vice President Unit 1836 and Mary Louise Jonas for taking the position of Patriot Instructor. Your commitment is to Ladies Auxiliary Unit 1836 is outstanding.
A historic event for the Ladies Auxiliary Military Order of the Purple Heart Unit 1836 is also being unveiled this month. On February 1, 2012 Application for  The Reverend Leonard Stegman Scholarship will be available for download from the Internet. The Scholarship is in the amount of $1000.00 for a  female Purple Heart recipient or female descendent of  a Purple Heart recipient  is eligible to apply. Full details can be accessed at www.purpleheartsa.org.
Everlasting thanks goes to our Scholarship Chairman, LaRue Terry and her committee Linda Soto, Susan Golding and Vicki Treese along with Alex Perez and others that helped make this happen. This has been an interesting process and will culminate on June 2, 2012 the Scholarship Committee will announce the winner at the LAMOPH General Meeting. Then scholarship winner will be introduced at a luncheon  on June 16, 2012 held by LAMOPH Unit 1836 and presented the award.
FOUNDER'S DAY is our most important event George Washinton's Birthday and will be held for all Ladies and Patriots on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Fort Sam Houston Golf Club off
Harry Wurzback. Please make your reservation with Adj. Bill Johnson--$30. a person with pay bar. We always have an outstanding Speaker and good food. So PLAN TO BE THERE. WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU!
The months ahead there are many Galas, Fund Raisers and events that we need to support.
