Current Commander, Department of Texas at Military Order of the Purple Heart Patriot Luna is married with 4 children and is a member of MOPH Chapter 723, Armed Forces Appreciation Committee, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo,Advisory Board Member, Spaulding for Children, 1989 to 2011, VFW Katy TX Post 9182, Peer Mentor - Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled American Veterans-Chapter 9, American Legion-Post 164, and Vietnam Veterans of American-Chapter 343.
Commander Luna is a graduate of Texas State University-San Marcos and holds a BA degree and Psychology/Business. During his tour as an infantryman in the US Army, 173rd, Patriot Luna’s awards include the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement.
He retired after 27 years from the US Probation Service on May 2004. He is the founder of a non-profit for Vets Journey Home programs in Texas A weekend experience for military veterans and active duty that have been in combat. Also open to personnel experiencing negative impact of being in war zone. PTSD education and an opportunity to tell a complete story in a safe environment to volunteers with similar experience.
